Glendal is President/Consultant of Glendal Jones Communications Group, LLC. Her company specializes in public/media & community relations, marketing, media coaching, crisis communications & service excellence coaching. Jones is also an award-winning journalist & communications professional as Glendal also serves as an independent consultant with Sentext Solutions, one of the largest mobile marketing companies in the nation. Ms. Jones assists businesses, memberships, restaurants, organizations and others communicate with their customers/members extra times and obtain new ones through SMS text message marketing.
Glendal managed the community relations/communications department for SUEZ North America-Indianapolis Operations-the second largest environmental company in the world. She oversaw the company's philanthropic activities & funded dozens of non-for profits. She managed internal/external communications & the company's social media pages.
As a broadcast journalist, Jones worked in several television markets including Indianapolis, Indiana & Columbus Ohio. As a reporter/anchor for Indianapolis NBC Affiliate WTHR-TV 13, Jones covered the Mike Tyson Trial, served as police and education reporter & anchored weekend & noon newscasts. She was nominated for an Emmy for her reporting and has won numerous Associated Press and other journalism awards. She was appointed by former Mayor Bart Peterson to host a citywide diversity show and she also served as an occasional producer/writer/reporter for the former CBS Television show, "The Doctor's." In Columbus, Ohio, Jones was an Emmy-award nominated reporter & Public Affairs Host.
As Director of Communications for Congressman Andre Carson, (7th District-IN), Jones was press secretary, spokesperson, crisis communications point person, speech writer & handled community/government liaison duties.
Jones enjoys serving the community, developing positive relationships & involvement in team-oriented projects. Most important is her family and friends, her church and singing in the choir, giving back to the community where she serves on the Indiana After School Network board and several community committees as well as youth-oriented committees. Jones is also a past gubernatorial appointment to the Commission for a Drug Free Indiana.
